JORGE SORUCO VILLANUEVA
Founding Partner
In his practice, Jorge is a trusted adviser in the Intellectual Property arena with more than thirty years of experience counseling clients on matters related to Intellectual Property. He provides a broad and deep understanding of Intellectual Property law to clients’ issues. Enjoys working with clients who trust him their legal matters and with whom he can build a long-standing relationship.
He dedicated considerable time and effort to recruit the best Intellectual Property lawyers and—as importantly—to keeping that core group together and growing stronger in order to best serve the clients. Jorge is a prestigious lawyer Master in Applied Economy (American University, Washington D.C) and Licensed in Political and Social Sciences (Greater University of San Andrés).
Prior to joining SORVILL, he served as a Secretariat of Integration, Consultant and Economic Adviser in Bolivian Airlines, Financial manager at LAB, Adviser of General Management of the Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB), Legal Adviser of SAFCO (Legal Regulation System), Legal Adviser at BCB c/p World Bank, Vice-minister and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1982 founded SORVILL Patent and Trademark Office which he has been managing up to date.

He joined SORVILL in 2019 and focuses his practice on Intellectual Property
He develops practice in trademarks, commercial slogans, trade names, and patents, renewals, use licenses, transfers, address changes, and name changes before the National Intellectual Property Service (SENAPI).
His practice focuses on opposition, cancellation, and nullity processes. Also is an advisor for border-measure and negotiation processes to obtain trademark coexistence agreements.

ALEJANDRA SORUCO AUZA
Marketing Manager
She collaborates in the preparation of documents for trademarks and renewals applications among others, based on her organizational and time management skills to stay a step ahead. Develops and implements policies and procedures for improving departmental productivity, monitoring daily deadlines and supervising the maintenance of numerous files. She enjoys the detail-oriented parts of her job, as well as developing a rapport with clients. She leads the firm’s overall business development, marketing, public relations, process improvement initiatives.
Alejandra joined SORVILL, as Marketing Manager. Besides, it is also her responsibility to focus on the growth of SORVILL and thus strengthen clients relationship, drive revenue, and deliver the highest value possible to clients.
CLAUDIA CANEDO AUZA
Familiar & Civil Law
Graduated in Law and Master in Business Administration, she is responsible for the supervision and processing of requests for search, registration, renewal, name changes, address changes, transfers and brand mergers before the National Intellectual Property Service (SENAPI).
Follow-up of procedures, correction of observations, presentation of modifications until the conclusion and obtaining of the Certificate or Resolution of the procedure in question.
Within each process and in accordance with the provisions of the Administrative Procedure Law, it is also in charge of preparing and presenting Hierarchical Revocations and Appeals.
In cases of improper use of trademarks, falsification and contraband, it is responsible for the preparation and processing of infringement actions and border measures before SENAPI and other entities such as Municipal Governments and National Customs of Bolivia.
In the processes concluded in the administrative field and whose result has not been favorable for the client, she is in charge of the analysis, study, preparation, preparation, presentation and processing of the presentation of contentious-administrative appeals before the Supreme Court of Justice .
VALERY ALIAGA
Trademark Paralegal Specialist
As a Trademark Paralegal Specialist, Valery’s responsibilities include filing and maintenance of Bolivian and foreign trademark applications. She also has extensive experience in due diligence projects regarding recordals of assignments, mergers, and change of name documents. Valery represents and counsels significant brand holders in the management of their global trademark portfolios and the selection, clearance, and registration of new brands. She also handles assignment recordation and trademark maintenance in Bolivia and foreign countries.
As a Trademark paralegal Specialist, Valery manages trademark files, maintains the trademark docket, and corresponds with the Bolivian Patent and Trademark Office, foreign associates and clients regarding new application filings, as well as upcoming deadlines for the maintenance of pending and registered trademarks. She also provides opinions on whether potential trademarks may be registered in view of existing marks. Before joining SORVILL, Valery developed a high level of expertise in the area of Consultancy and Administration; she worked at the Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB) as Dealer and Forex Specialist, and Management of International Investments, where she also handled and controlled Countable Operations; She was part of the preparation and organization of the Institutionalized Ministerial Meetings of Grupo de Rio and the European Union at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was General Administrator at a Venezuelan Health Care Clinic. She speaks Spanish, English, Russian, German, Portuguese and French, and because of her language skills she loves to work and communicate with all the clients around the world.
BELÉN VALDÉZ LÓPEZ
Legal Specialist & Patent Agent
She loves her career in law, particularly litigating intellectual property cases. She also counsels clients regarding various intellectual property-related matters, including the acquisition and protection of trademark rights. She has successfully represented clients in all aspects of complex Intellectual Property disputes from pre-filing through post-trial briefing and appealling work. She manages dispute matters, including a very large number of patent and trademark oppositions. Belén is a key team member involved in all elements of trial, including preparing briefs and pleadings and managing trial issues. Her prosecution experience includes preparing patent applications, preparing responses to Office Actions, conducting examiner interviews, preparing appeal briefs and general Intellectual Property counseling.
GABRIEL SAKI YAMADA
Technology Specialist
Gabriel is dedicated to implementing new processes and applications for the improvement of the database, he monitors, analyzes and performs the necessary backups of information.
Another job it does is managing, modifying and implementing the information on the Sorvill website.
